One of my favorite Jeff Foxworthy memes. It's one of my favorites because its so darn true!

Just go into any "politically charged" news story, and comment in the opposition to any point made. It's both funny and sad, because there is no such thing allowed these days as being allowed to THINK for yourself, and have an opinion different than someone else.

I can't go a day with out being called a snow flake or a Nazi, It's more fun when I get called both in the same day. Bonus points if its within the same comment thread!While its funny, it's also a sad, and despicable side to the state of our nation, and people as a whole.

Middle Ground, common sense, logic, compassion for others, all seems to have gone out the window. We are polarized more than ever, and over the past 12 years its gotten worse. No that is not a blame on Obama, but an unfortunate parallel.

His election seems to have drawn out more and more hate groups and individuals who will show their true colors. Trumps election seems to have opened the flood gates, and what was a steady trickle, is now a full on raging river of bigotry and hate!


People only want one side or the other, they talk of compromise, yet refuse to listen to the solutions and proposals of the other.


Take gun control for example. in general, "the left" wants all of certain weapons banned, stricter laws, etc. "The right" wants none of that. Both sides constantly ignore REAL facts and resort to emotions and childish behavior, tantrums and the like.


What the left fails to realize, we really do have a lot of laws already in the books regarding gun control.Federal, State and Local. Many were willing concessions, which depending on your interpretations of state and federal constitutions, could be considered violations. We allow these things, like background checks, because we also do not want to see guns in the hands of dangerous or violent people.

Many times the laws are not properly enforced. Such as we saw with the Stone-man Douglass Shooting, how many times was this kid checked out by the FBI? Knowing this kid was suffering since his parents died, why was no one helping him sort through his emotions and getting him the help he clearly needed?

What laws could have stopped shootings when the gun was legally owned, and there was not red-flag issues at the time of purchase? None, especially when the biggest law broken was ignoring a big sign that says "gun free zone". A deranged person that hell bent on doing harm will do it by any means necessary.


The right CONSTANTLY attacks the left for any call of gun control. Even common sense things, like finding any possible loopholes, and making the buying process uniform. There are many loopholes where a person could technically go to one state with more lax policies and procedures, then transport that gun across state lines. They only see things as "being taken away", when in reality no one is physically

This one takes the cake, IF he stands by his word I will be both shocked and glad.

It is very funny, his hypocracy in not supporting this bill, yet he is behind some very threatening legislation that is 100% anti-constitutional, in regards to the Second Amendment. when he "warned that the bill does not sufficiently protect civil liberties", referring to the CISPA bill.

Response to the State of the Union Address as it goes on

Each thought below is my response/reaction to things that stand out to me during tonight's State of the Union Address, given by Barrack Obama.

Note I am not a Democrat, I am not a Repbulician. Our government has just pissed me off for the last time and everything they do I think we need to analyze it and scrutinize it if it does not seem to be in the best interest of our country.


The green ribbons: Several members of congress are wearing Green/White Ribbons as a symbol to commit to end gun violence. Green and white are supposedly the colors of Newtown High School. I do not know what they think they will do, but, there is no way you can completely end gun violence. It is a tactic, just as you cannot end terrorism, terrorism is a tactic in order to prove some point.

2.5 Trillion deficit reduction? What REDUCTION!!

Going to push for more affordable care and reforms with the "Sampson-Bowles" Plan... But what about congress?? what will you all do about your health care?

Tax reform.. How about we move to a flat tax? there will be no loop holes and everyone pays a "fair share" as you  want. Don't tax the heck out of us!

Encouraging pushing Manufacturing in the US= GOOD! About time! But we need to invest in education to make sure that our people are educated properly to think and create these promising technologies.

Everyone's energy bill is lower? I have seen/heard nothing but rate increases in utilities.

Climate change that we are experiencing we felt similar patterns over 100 years ago, our cycles in patterns. We only started recording and keeping track of such patterns within that time.

This is not the first time I have heard of this, but I saw this on my Facebook page, and thought I would pass it along:

Okay, so I tired of all the gun debate crap all over but I need to voice this out:

The constitution is all I need, and it is worded as follows:

AMENDMENT II

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

James maddison himself, the framer of this particular amendment, has already defined militia as the citizens of our country.

No matter how you want to try an twist it there is nothing legal about restricting us to what weapons we can and cannot have!


All this crap about restricting to 7-round clips in New York is just BEGGING CRIMINALS TO COME KNOCKING AT OUR DOORS!!!

There are lists of laws preventing us from having things like flame throwers, and nuclear arms also, but where does it say in the constitution "right to bear and keep arms, except for condition X,Y and Z"?

It does not!

The government is allowed to have them, who are they to say we cannot? THEY WORK FOR US!!! WE PAY THEIR SALARIES AND HIRE THEM EVERY FIRST TUESDAY OF NOVEMBER!


There are many stories out there not being reported by the top mainstream medias about guns actually helping people, rather try focus on the deaths caused to innocent unarmed people.

A woman in Georgia shot an intruder over 5times and he still lived to go to jail. Imagine if it was two intruders?? Her or those kids could have been in trouble! :

Prohibition of weapons will not do anything either! Did prohibition of alcohol work when George Washington prohibited alcohol in the early days of or nation? Prohibition in the '20's? Even prohibition of certain drugs today?? PEOPLE WILL STILL DO IT AND FIND A WAY TO DO IT IF THEY WANT TO!

Well readers, here we go again.

WE are about to do like Thelma and Louise, and go over a cliff. This cliff, however, will not kill us in the physical sense, it will kill what we have come to know and love of this country called America.

Our politicians claim to be scrambling to get us to a resolve before we reach the barrier, and tumble over, so they say.

WE hear it day in and day out "cut medicare/entitlement reform, Cut planned parenthood, cut this cut that" then we hear from another side, "raise this tax, eliminate these loop holes, revenue this revenue that". It does get quite tiresome does it not?


But there is one thing that you never hear them discuss cutting, their salary. The whole government shut down thin we hear is really them not getting paid, there for they won't "go to work".

Did you know the average congressman makes about 200k/year? The senate (for example) has 2 per state, in 50 states.

2x50= 100 x 200,000 = 20 MILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR!!!

The average salary in the 1950's was between 33-45k. That is what most teachers begin to make in their first couple of years....

Take the presidential salary:

400k X 4 years is 16million!!

Not to mention they actually get that for life!!! On top of 10 years of secret service protection and other perks I am sure. And I'm pretty sure the same goes with congress that their salaries are for life!

In the house they get about 150K, and with there being nearly 450 of them, well you do the math for just one year of pay roll.




Brace yourselves America, this is going to be one HELL of a New Year in 2013!!!!

It's your right... DO IT TOMORROW!!!

Tomorrow is the big day.

The day we can use our voice to choose who leads our country and, in some cases, state and how our state will lean towards a certain policy.

It is Election day.

I encourage everyone to vote, I don't care who you vote for, really I don't.

The beauty of this country is we are allowed to differ on opinion, despite any disagreement, or lack thereof. Use your power to vote.

Now there are technicalities to your vote and how it is counted. This varies by your state. Some states require the Electoral College to follow the popular vote. There are some states that do not require it, and if the delegate is a GOP member, they are allowed to "change" the vote per new GOP rules enacted in the previous convention.

Understand that no matter how it could be 'wasted' ie:

• blindly voting, "straight party" or uneducated
• voting for one simply because you do not like the other.
• voting 3rd party because they ARE the right choice FOR YOU

Your vote is still not a total waste, it is your opinion and voice.

Between the two main parties we may not have a decisive winner, it is possible. Both Romney and Obama are nearly tied at this point (depending on the poll you look at). Thousands have turned out for early vote, and some states (including those affected by Sandy) are on a provisional and email-ballot system due to problems with power and locations to vote. 

Keep in mind to be declared an official winner, one must have a certain number of electoral college votes.

You should also know, there are people that will try and intimidate you to vote certin ways, or not at all. THIS IS 1000% ILLEGAL!!!

Regardless of this, USE YOUR VOICE AND VOTE.

Obama AND Romney cannot stress this enough, and neither can I.

It's your vote, use it!

BE INFORMED IN YOUR VOTE

Just remember america, you do not have only two choices in your vote for President.

There is NEVER only TWO candidates to choose from. We may get screwed with by the Electoral College, but if enough people push towards these 3rd party people we can essentially gain the change we really want. I appoligize but yes, I did link that to Wikipedia, shame on me, but it gives you the information I want you to have.

I personally missed the debates for the 3rd party candidates (another source, not wiki :)  ) this year, but they are all viable contenders for my vote. The only media outlets that appear to be covering these candidates are RT News andAljazeera


Frankly, these two news sources are more reliable than our own Big Biased 5 in the US (Fox, ABC, NBC, CNN, CBS)

The problem with our elections *Update10/16)

In light of the heating argument and debates in this Presidential electino season. I would like to take a moment to discuss one of our problems:

America, we have a problem with our elections.

Our votes mean nothing!

We may vote and choose who WE THE PEOPLE want but it does not matter.

In MOST states the Electoral College is NOT bound to the popular vote in the state.

We need to stand up for our rights as citizens and disband the electoral college, out vote needs to be the one that counts!

Join the movement and be heard!

They are the ones blocking a balanced budget, yet they are the ones who have the power to push it.

Mitt Romney is not the answer

Republicans, if you are focused on Romney at this point them you need to rethink your options!!

Romney is not the official nominee of the GOP yet!

The others dropped out (except Ron Paul) because they were not ready yet among other things.

Your party still needs to hold their convention for him to be official. On top of this, he doe not have all of the delegates yet!

So do not settle for someone who claims he is better because he says he is, look at who you still have as options, even a write in.

If you want someone in your party that will not push agendas and truly believes in the US Constitution then Ron Paul is your guy!!!

If I were to endorse any republican candidate he would be my guy, not a guy who goes back on his word an accuses others of the same tricks he plays.

Mitt Romney's Foreign Policy... Another Bush Era rolling in?

This weekend, Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney visited Israel (second source Washington Post) during his overseas tour looking for supporting votes and donations.


*note I am no expert in Jewish-Hebrew customs, I was only aware that today marked an important day from the news reports*


Today was the first day of a three-day visit to Israel. His first mistake is visiting during a very solemn day on the Jewish calendar, the Tisha B'Av. If I were to travel for his intended purpose, a day of mourning is not the best day to visit and "show that we need to stand by Israel".


I am all for standing behind Israel, although I do feel that we take it upon ourselves as a country to to dedicate 100%of our resources to one country. While the US did "found" Israel in the 60's, it is NOT soil of the US.

This visit to Israel brought out some very, very scary words out of the Republican presidential hopeful. In his speech Romney said, "We should employ any and all measures to dissuade the Iranian regime from its nuclear course, and it is our fervent hope that diplomatic and economic measures will do so," and "In the final analysis, of course, no option should be excluded. We recognize Israel's right to defend itself, and that it is right for America to stand with you. "
"any and all measures, no option": I don't know about you, but that sounds a little like a threat of WAR. I thought Romney was AGAINST wasteful spending? Would provoking a war with Iran NOT be wasteful spending? 


Obviously he did not learn from his 2000-2008 counterpart George Bush and his endeavors in Iraq and Afghanistan. 


Yes, I know Obama spent about $5Trillion during this term, but a lot of it was towards IMPROVEMENTS to our country and its internal workings, including our infrastructure ( S.1926 (110th) and H.R. 4268 (111th)) and a beginning step towards fixing our broken health care system.


George Bush spent over $10 Trillion on two wars that did what for the US? What did it accomplish other than removing our enemies. 


On top of this Romney contradicts him self in policy. 


He spoke of us being the "peace-makers", yet an hour prior to the speech "one of his senior foreign policy advisers- would support Israel's right to launch a unilateral military strike against Iran" (W.Post)


How can someone claim to not want to use military force say "any and all means necessary", while supporting ones "right" to launch a military strike?


I also encourage you to read the Washington Post article on Page 2 at the end about the "Arab Spring", and think about how hypocritical it is for us to not defend the people of countries (i.e. Egypt) who are pushing for a less oppressive dictatorship towards a more democratic government than what they had. Just another thing to use to press  for an un-necessary military action against countries like Iran who "do not like us."






In short America, please really think about our decision in about 100 days. 


Do we re-elect a president that will try to keep us in peace and improve our broken insides?


OR


Do we go back to militaristic Ideals that compleetly contradict the ideals our country was founded upon? Ignore OUR people while focusing on OTHERS freedoms while our own people struggle day to day?




The choice is yours America, 


Choose wisely!

NO NO ITS TIME TO GO NCAA!!!

First I will admit, I am not a HUGE sports fan. Yes I follow my NASCAR, my Drum Corps, my Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles.
I am a Band-Wagon Philadelphia Flyers fan... I find sports entertaining, but I am not a nut!

That does not mean I cannot weigh in on the NCAA's sanctions against Penn State University, because I feel it hits a little close to home for me.

If you have read my other blog "The Days of Our Lives..." you would know that my son is a patient at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.

The pediatric cancer unit at PS-HMC is joined with The Four Diamonds Fund, which though the efforts of many students across Penn State, raises money to:

• raise awareness pediatric cancer
• treatments
• new experimental research
• expansion and research of current treatments
• pay portions not covered by families insurance
• spread love, courage and hope to patients and families

What does this have to do with my feelings on the sanctions? A-LOT!

The hospital is also the medical school for Penn State University. This hospital is also a Children's Miracle Network hospital, and one of the biggest medical networks in Central Pennsylvania. Patients from all over the world have come to PS-HMC for many ground breaking treatments. 

One of the biggest supporting student groups is the athletics department. There is even a "pep-rally" where all the sports teams dress in costumes and do some sort of lip-sync/dance to a song.

The NCAA has way over stepped the lines.

The NCAA is the self-appointed "ruling body" of collegiate sports. According to their website, they were founded "to protect student athletes".

Honestly with their fines and penalties, against Penn State, will have nothing but a NEGATIVE EFFECT, and will be truly hurting student athletes. Most of these students were never a part of the program when any of these child abuse incidents occurred.

Now, I know many of you are thinking, "well the school is the one who covered it up". OK, well maybe that may have been the case, there were A TON of things that probably could have been done better (i.e. TOM CORBETT initial investigation) HOWEVER, it was the faculty and staff of the school who was wrong, NOT THE STUDENTS!!

The president of Penn State has taken it upon himself to accept the penalty. Where does he get this right from? Tom Corbett says that this will not be paid out of the tax payers pockets.

Tom Corbett says a lot of things but that means nothing. It does come out of our pockets, and you want to know how?

The loss of tuition, the loss of scholarships, the loss of enrollment, it will HURT us more than "help" anything.

A BIG BOX OF CUDDOS to the students, who will be hurt the most by this, for standing up and staying with Penn State.

A BIG BOX OF CRAP to the NCAA and those that think this will ONLY hurt Penn State.

As for the NCAA, Who are they... really WHO THE HELL ARE THEY?!?!?!?!? 

Where do they get off thinking they can impose any sort of fine? 

Are they the US Government?

NO!

Are they the STATE of PENNSYLVANIA???

NOO!!!

Are they any legal entity that belongs to any sort of government that CAN legally impose any sort of fine against a STATE entity?? 

HELL TO THE NO!

The NCAA has too much power, just as the NFL, MLB, and any other sports related "governing body". The main difference is that the "pro" bodies are technically private franchises, that is O.K. but for a non governmental entitiy to fine a STATE EDUCATIONAL BODY is WAY out of line!! WAY OUT OF LINE NCAA

IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO GO! YOU NEED TO BE DISBANDED, YOUR EXISTENCE IS TRULY UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!! Leave the fining to the US GOVERNMENT NOT PRIVATE FIRMS!!

OF course though... I am merely one little human being, I am a TAX PAYER  to the State of Pennsylvania, my words mean shit... or do they??

People we need to stand up to these idiots, write the NCAA let them know they mean SHIT to us, and they have no place!!

It's time for the NCAA to go!
